One person died and seven others were injured in an accident that occurred on Otedola Bridge, Lagos State on Thursday.
We gathered that the accident happened around 08 am.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency confirmed the accident.
LASTMA noted that the accident involved a fuel tanker, a car, and a commercial bus loaded with 10 passengers.
It tweeted, “Fatal accident on Otedola Bridge inward Berger involving a tanker and a Mazda bus. All relevant emergency agencies alerted.
Traffic backlog building up beyond Secretariat.”
“Preliminary reports confirm that a Golf car was also involved in the crash. No casualties from the car.
“One passenger from the bus confirmed dead with seven others injured.”
Giving further details on the accident, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said a petrol tanker with registration number KRd 259 XR loaded with about 40, 000 litres of petrol rammed into the Mazda bus with registration number KJA 581 XL, and a Volkswagen Golf car with registration number AAA 722 FU.
It added, “Upon the arrival of the LRT at the incident, it was discovered that a tanker loaded with PMS rammed into a bus and a car.
“Two adult males and a child were severely injured by the impact and were attended to by the Agency’s officials, before being taken to Trauma Center for further treatment.
